:: [ SVVS NATIONAL
AND INTERNATIONAL INFORMATION ASSISTANCE
SERVICE ] ::
The SVVS Website currently
receives approximately 500,000
hits a year and the "HELP
PAGE" is internationally the most
visited 'page' on the site. We receive numerous e-mails from historians
and motoring enthusiasts from all over the world with the request to
identify vehicles from old photographs. We can help with identification
of Classic cars because most of us are old enough to remember them as
new, and owning Vintage photo or Veteran vehicles, many of us, and/or our
associates, are also specialists in own make or type of vehicle -
These Help Pages are therefore devoted to some of the interesting enquiries
received, and information that we have provided. While page is
being built, enquiries are in received order, - when completed, cars are in year
order:

IDENTIFICATION AND DATING: 1906
NAG Tourer
This seems a photo-of-a-photo
received from Pavel Chirkov (Russia?)
who would like to know the make and model of the car in the photo. The
photo was taken in Russia, Chernihiv province before 1915.
-- This would be in
the north-central part of Ukraine, closest big town Kiev. The enquiry
is headed 'Delaunay Belleville?' as favored by the Tsar? No this
is a German car made in Berlin by a company that was AEG but renamed to

Darracq 18'22hp Double Phaeton
Dark photo-of-a-photo sent by
Daniel Yeates (UK) from
a member of his local history group showing a family member and
asked if we could identify the car. Possibly an early Darracq,
Coach built? -- All
would have been 'coacbuilt'. We have slightly enhanced photo and
our Ariejan Bos confirms the handle on the steering column suggests a
cca 1908 Darracq 18'22hp Double Phaeton.
Larger 4 cylinder models do not have this handle. For the bigger seats
the chassis must have been extended,

the visor was wrong. Subsequently identified as a cca 1927 Oldsmobile.
Model 30 Sedan. 1927 was the last year for that designation, they
became F series after that; F-28, F-29, etc each year.

Graham-Paige Sedan
Lovely photo received from Doug

615.
